Ddu Attended CPhI India
As one of the largest and most comprehensive events in pharmaceutical drugs industry, CPhI India was held from November 28th to November 30th, 2017 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, India.
I. Of the exhibitors, 25% were from China.
CPhI India is one of the largest and most comprehensive pharmaceutical industry events in South Asia, focusing on pharmaceutical ingredients, machinery, equipment, outsourcing and bio-solutions for the pharmaceutical industry.
CPhI India has attracted high-quality prospectors who are actively looking for these pharmaceutical products and services since its inception in 2006. Given the low barrier of market entry, it has gained attention from all over the world, especially from Chinese API manufacturers and traders.
The exhibition attracted over 1,200 exhibitors, half of which were small and medium-sized companies. As indicated by the chart, 40% of them were from India, 25% from China and 10% from Europe and America.
There was a good flow of people and over 25,000 visitors attended the exhibition of whom most were manufacturers and traders from South Asian regions such as India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
II. Indian suppliers are bullish on the Chinese market.
According to statistics, India is the world’s third-largest producer of generic drugs, producing 20% of global generic drugs.
Thus, exhibits were mainly low-end APIs with very few high-end and innovative drugs.
In regards to the Chinese market, it was found that the demands of
medical device suppliers and buyers in India are somewhat different to that of the local Chinese market.
